Numerous community organisations and events are supported across the Tabcorp Group at a corporate level and through its businesses, brands and employees.
Tabcorp, its venues, employees and customers also come together to help in times of disaster and to assist those in need.

TAB Sportsbet Great Chase supports Victorian community groups (November 2011)
Tabcorp partnered with Greyhound Racing Victoria for the fourth consecutive year for the 2011 TAB Sportsbet Great Chase. The unique greyhound racing series aligns participating community groups in Victoria with a randomly allocated greyhound to run on their behalf. The series provides these groups with the opportunity to win much needed funds. The 2011 TAB Sportsbet Great Chase series involved 151 community groups, a record for the event.
Representing Wintringham Community Services, the greyhound named Fully Advanced took out the final on 12 November. Tabcorp Chairman, Paula Dwyer, presented Wintringham with a $5,000 cheque and draped the winner’s rug over the winning greyhound.
Tabcorp employees participate in after school development program (May-June 2011)
Employees in Melbourne participated in a 9 week developmental program held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at the Fitzroy and Collingwood Housing Estates through the Tabcorp Roar program. The program provided a range of engaging after school activities to primary school-aged students who live at the estates.
The program concluded with selected staff helping supervise the children who were invited to attend the Richmond v Carlton game, and joining in a football clinic on the hallowed grounds of the MCG.
Five Tabcorp teams participate in grueling Oxfam Trailwalker in Melbourne (April 2011)
Oxfam involves teams of four walking 100km in 48 hours through picturesque and at times challenging terrain. Tabcorp donated $4,500 towards getting our teams on the trail and TAB Sportsbet decked out our teams in some smart uniforms.
In addition to the above, the five Tabcorp teams raised an amazing $18,460 for Oxfam.
Tabcorp extends partnership with the Tigers in the Community Foundation (April 2011)
After a successful first year where many employees dedicated their time to help drive the success of this program, Tabcorp was pleased to announce the extension of the program for the 2011 year.
As part of this years' program, employees based in Melbourne will be able to participate in a range of programs including a developmental program for kids from various Housing Estates, assisting with the service of breakfast at St Mary's House of Welcome and also assisting with other community events organised by TICF and Tabcorp.
Tabcorp supports Victorian thoroughbred employees (March 2011)
Tabcorp was the proud sponsor of the Victorian Thoroughbred Employee of the Year awards at a ceremony held at Flemington during March.
The awards recognise the unsung heroes of Victoria's thoroughbred racing and breeding industries and the contribution they make to the sport.
Queensland Premier's Flood Relief Appeal (January 2011)
Tabcorp donated $1 million to the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal on behalf of its Queensland businesses and the broader Tabcorp family. For more information refer to media release dated 13 January 2011.
Tabcorp and Sony Foundation together say, 'You Can' (October 2010)
You Can is an initiative of the Sony Foundation Australia and Canteen. This partnership aims to raise $15 million by encouraging Australians to donate their old mobile phones, which will be recycled and turned into much needed funds.
Australians can drop off any unwanted mobile phones into You Can donation bins which have been put into NSW and Victorian TAB agencies, racecourses and Tabcorp's 4 casino properties and offices in each state. Each phone donated is worth approximately $5 to $10 after it is refurbished and resold, with the funds going to You Can. For more information refer to media release dated 7 October 2010.
Tabcorp Melbourne employees volunteer for Very Special Kids Family Day (April 2010)
As part of Tabcorp's partnership with the Tigers in the Community Foundation, 18 Melbourne employees volunteered their time to help support the Very Special Kids (VSK) Family Day held at Punt Road Oval on 17 April, as part of the Tabcorp ROAR program.
The day's program aimed to provide fun activities and memorable moments for families and children with life-threatening illnesses. Tabcorp employees were involved in welcoming of families, arts and crafts, petting zoo attendants, cleaning, setting up, assisting with the car parking, footy and other fun activities.
March is 'Roaring to Read' month for Tabcorp ROAR (March 2010)
Tabcorp employees in the Melbourne office were asked to help students in grades 3 to 6 by simply donating any suitable book (new or used) or by choosing a book recommended by the Richmond football players.
In total, Tabcorp donated over 950 books to the Tigers in the Community Foundation, which will be distributed to schools in the Richmond area to encourage reading and improve literacy for children from Public Housing Estates.
Jupiters Hotel and Casino Gold Coast hosts Camp Quality (March 2009)
As part of Tabcorp's ongoing community partnership with Camp Quality, this year 21 Camp Quality families were treated to a fun filled weekend getaway at Tabcorp's Jupiters hotel and casino on the Gold Coast.
The weekend's activities included a visit from Dreamworld animals, a tropical pool barbeque, and a visit to the local theme park Wet ‘n' Wild. Also, Jupiters Gold Coast lavished the 60 children and their families to a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory party.
Star City shows support for Bushfire and Flood Appeals (March 2009)
Star City hosted a benefit staged by Socceroos stars Lucas Neill, Tim Cahill and Mark Schwarzer which raised around $300,000 for the Victorian bushfire and New South Wales flood appeals.
Victorian bushfires (Feb 2009)
Tabcorp pledged $2 million to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund to help bushfire victims affected by this catastrophe. Refer to media release dated 9 February 2009.
Jupiters Townsville Charity Garage Sale (November 2008)
Jupiters Townsville hotel and casino held its third annual Charity Garage Sale, whereby hundreds of items from the property were sold to raise funds for Cancer Council Queensland's Townsville Hospice Appeal and the Townsville Hospital Foundation Children's Ward. Treasury Casino and Hotel Boardroom Blitz in support of the Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland (October 2008)
Treasury Casino and Hotel in Brisbane has supported Boardroom Blitz as the major sponsor since it began, six years ago. Blitz is a “battle of the bands”, which brings corporate Brisbane out of its shell in support of the Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland (CPLQ).
Cerebral Palsy is a condition usually caused by brain damage occurring at or before birth, which is identified by muscular impairment resulting in difficulties with movement. Star City Hosts 36 Camp Quality Families (June 2008)
Star City and special guests brought a good dose of fun therapy to children living with cancer at a weekend camp at Star City in June 2008. Star City provided the all expenses paid weekend away for 36 special Camp Quality families to enjoy a weekend in the city and the use of Star City's restaurant, theatre and accommodation facilities. Families enjoyed our Star City hospitality, a special welcome party, non-stop kids entertainment, fully equipped fun break-out rooms and meeting celebrities.
The weekend also offered families free entry to Darling Harbour attractions, including the IMAX Theatre, Sydney Aquarium, Maritime Museum and Powerhouse Museum. All locations were accessible using an all day multi pass on the Metro Link from Star City.
Star City employees volunteered their time and were on hand over the weekend to ensure the families and kids had a great stay and break from their daily routines of cancer treatment.
Treasury Casino and Hotel Bachelor Auction for breast cancer research (June 2008)
Treasury Casino and Hotel in Brisbane hosted the eighth annual charity Bachelor Auction, to raise money for breast cancer research at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research. Some of the most eligible bachelors in Brisbane went under the hammer on the night, raising over $8,000 for the charity. As host, Treasury donated its function room and banqueting facilities for the event.
Charities getting involved in Fashion Fridays - Treasury Casino and Hotel (monthly)
Treasury Casino and Hotel Fashion Fridays are a Brisbane icon with different Brisbane charities participating in the event, and a chance to raise money and publicise their organisation. Treasury donates a number of prizes for charities to raffle and all funds are collected by the charity. Charities also have the opportunity to fundraise at the event.
Treasury has also partnered with the Starlight Children's Foundation for the Melbourne Cup event in 2008.
Jupiters Townsville Charity Ball and Auction (November 2007)
Jupiters Townsville hosted its Charity Ball and Auction to raise money for local charities in North Queensland. Three worthy local charities were chosen as beneficiaries of funds raised at the event, which included the Townsville & Thuringowa Mayor's Christmas Appeals, Cancer Council Queensland's Townsville Hospice Appeal and the Townsville Hospital Foundation. The event was a great success with over $60,000 raised and distributed to the local charities.
The Alfred Hospital Melbourne (October to November 2007)
During the 2007 Spring Racing Carnival, Tabcorp joined forces with Victorian Racing Club to raise funds for the Alfred Hospital Melbourne through the selling of Melbourne Cup miniature pins at Tabcorp's Victorian TAB and Tabaret venues. Over $18,145 was raised and all proceeds went to the Alfred Hospital.
