Welcome to the new look Community News. We have taken the opportunity to freshen the look and feel of our newsletter in line with recently revised branding and imagery for the Tabcorp Group. Community News will still keep you up to date on our work with and in support of the communities in which we operate. This edition brings you the results of the Shine Community Spirit Awards recently launched at Star City, together with news on a host of other activities and programs which Tabcorp is proud to support. Tabcorp's responsible gambling initiatives are also discussed together with the appointment of Prue Sabelberg, Tabcorp's new Responsible Service of Wagering Manager.

July 2004 - Issue No. 9 - Jul 01 2004
July sees a focus on the first ever National Jockey Celebration Day which took place at 27 race meetings across Australia in support of those jockeys who lost their lives in riding accidents. The results of a review by KPMG of compliance with Tabcorp's Responsible Gambling Code is outlined together with announcement of the proceeds raised through the Tabaret Big BBQ Benefit in Geelong during March. Activities in support of the community from both the Jupiters group and Star City casino are highlighted, together with Keno and the Club Kilsyth family Fun Day. All in all a jam packed edition!

The holiday season is upon us and the 2003 Christmas edition of Community News sends a timely reminder for all beach goers to take care in the water this summer as Tabcorp announces as further 12 month extension to its principal sponsorship of Life Saving Victoria. Star City’s philanthropic initiatives receive attention this edition together with the Big BBQ Benefit in support of the Victorian SES. The other key highlight is a special feature in relation to a range of issues concerning responsible gambling and Tabcorp’s recent overseas travels to investigate best practice responsible gambling initiatives.

This edition highlights the unique partnership formed between Tabcorp and Tattersall's to help raise monies for the victims of Victoria's summer bushfires. Star City's self-exclusion program is discussed together with the appointment of Victoria's Advocate for Responsible Gambling. Other communities activities featured include Tabcorp's involvement with SEAL Force, Kids Under Cover, the Northern Hospital and the 2003 Goldfields Tourism Awards.

highlights TABCORP's support and work with SealForce, the company's recognition for it's work with women in the workplace and staff efforts to help find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes. Community Assistance Program activities including Gippsland's Big BBQ Benefit, helping kids with Cerebral Palsy, the Melbourne to Warrnambool Cycling Classic and support for the Ballarat Lighthouse are all reviewed together with United Way, Surf Life Saving and Farmhand activities.
