Tabcorp recognised as Employer of Choice for Gender Equality
Tabcorp has been recognised as one of Australia’s leading promoters of workplace diversity after being named an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality for the third consecutive year.
The citation, awarded by the Federal Government’s Workplace Gender Equality Agency, recognises Tabcorp’s achievements in working towards a diverse workplace.
Tabcorp Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, David Attenborough said he is extremely proud of the company’s achievements.
“Tabcorp is the only gambling company and one of only 120 Australian organisations to receive this citation,” Mr Attenborough said.
“We’re pleased with our progress. However we recognise there is more work to do as we aspire to be a truly inclusive workplace across our combined Tabcorp-Tatts group.”
Since the establishment of a Diversity Council in 2012, Tabcorp has introduced a number of initiatives including:
- 13 weeks paid parental leave for primary carers and market-leading paid secondary carer's leave of six weeks;
- a Women's Mentoring Program which more than 150 women have participated in;
- flexi leave day entitlements; and
- a commitment to increasing the representation of women in the senior leadership group.
Tabcorp's focus on gender equality not only benefits our employees but Tabcorp too, as research indicates diverse organisations outperform those that aren't.
