Thoroughbreds Are Go

16 March 2020

A new five-part series Thoroughbreds Are Go will premier on Sky Thoroughbred Central on 16th March, 7:30pm AEDT as part of Tabcorp’s support of the racing industry’s animal welfare efforts.

Hosted by Caroline Searcy, the program offers insight into the re-homing of former racehorses, detailing different off-track pursuits while promoting equine welfare.

“Thoroughbreds Are Go showcases the great athleticism of our Australian thoroughbreds and their adaptability to take on a range of off-track pursuits,” Caroline said.

“The program assists racing owners to re-home their thoroughbreds and educates the equestrian community on their best care. Thanks to TAB and Sky for their support of promoting animal welfare.”

TAB is the major sponsor of the program, which airs on Sky Racing. It’s another step in Tabcorp’s commitment to promote animal welfare.

On top of involvement in Thoroughbreds Are Go, Tabcorp is continuing to support the racing industry through other initiatives. All proceeds from the sale of TAB’s Sock Stable socks will be donated to equine welfare charities and Tabcorp is a major backer of the Thoroughbred Welfare Initiative, which is led by the national bodies for thoroughbred breeders, trainers and jockeys.

MD Wagering and Media Adam Rytenskild has previously stated Tabcorp’s commitment.

“We want to use our industry leadership position and voice to play a more meaningful role. We want to make a difference by having a strong and well thought through contribution on what is a complex issue,” Adam said.

“We also want to make best use of the reach our TAB and Sky brands give into communities in which we operate.”
